Still Adjusting?

Our first child, the dog, seems to still be in the adjustment phase of our adoption. I actually thought she was doing much better and didn't seem to be sulking around as much as she did when Ezra first came home. Remember these photos? I thought the dog would like our new arrangement since I am home more and not at work all day. Most days she just follows us around but keeps to herself. Our days usually look like this:

However, over the past few weeks she has been acting out a bit. Thankfully, she is not at all aggressive towards Ezra but she shows her jealously in other ways. For example, last week Ezra was playing in his exersaucer and I was sitting on the floor close by. She clearly wanted to be noticed and was going to make sure of it.

She positioned herself in between Ezra and me so that I could barely see Ezra. Ha! She just sat there and didn't want to move. Sigh. Last week she bit a hole in my pants and when Ezra and I were upstairs she stayed downstairs and chewed up the kleenex box. I guess sometimes you take one step forward and two steps back. Here's to hoping this is just a phase. How could she not love this face?

  1. Too funny about your dog. :) We have a cat, and she's been acting out in certain ways as well. I try to give the cat a lot of attention, but lets be honest, these babies of ours take precedent. :) Does Ezra like your dog? My kiddos LOVE the cat. LOVE her. It's so funny. :)

Ezra continues to be as cute as ever. And he looks like he's grown so much. :)

  3. I can't take that cute little smoosh face picture! Oh my I love him. Our smoosh face is still not adjusting well to Tesfa. He hides downstairs most the day and then acts neglected at night.

  4. Our dog(Sophie)her adjustment was horrible...When we got back from Ethiopia she wouldn't come around me at all...She ignored me for almost 2 weeks...LOL!! She is doing great but still has her moments and has her little tantrums and chews stuff up...Sophie loves Lidya, but when it comes to our attention Sophie wants it ALL!!! And Lidya is willing to share...
We were so worried about Lidya's adjustment(which was a Breeze:)Someone needs to write a book on animal adjustments....:)
