This post is VERY delayed and I am officially a bad wife. Damon turned the big 30 on July 22nd and I neglected to wish him a big happy bday on the blog. Don't worry, I did remember to tell him on the actual day. A few weeks ago he had a party along with our friend Nancy, who also turned 30 recently. We had a big bbq over at Nancy’s and I know Damon appreciated that several of our good friends made it over to celebrate.
Happy belated Birthday Damon! Welcome to the 30s!
Suzie was attacked by her cat earlier in the day and still made it to the party!
Nancy (the Birthday girl) and Brenda
These lovely ladies were 2 of our 4 references required by the home study. Brenda and Damon have been working for the same company for the past 8 years! We met Nancy through Kara and Marty and she has been a good friend ever since. She is also an elementary school teacher in our community. We are so grateful to them for taking the time to help us with our adoption!
Can you tell these two are brothers?! Now that Asa is keeping his hair short he and Damon look more and more alike in my opinion. Asa is on the left and Damon on the right (in case you couldn't tell). Asa, Sarah (our sister-in-law) and Malayna (our niece) drove an hour to attend the party!
I think good times were had by all and I know Damon was very appreciative!
I made a few minor changes to the blog. I wanted more of a design as the header so this will do for now. I hope you like it.
I REALLY hope the next post will be that we are on the waitlist! We are just waiting for the CIS letter to be authenticated so we are super close. It is one of those things that I know is out of my control but the excitement is hard to contain sometimes.
Happy 30th to your hubby! :-D
ReplyDeleteOkay, not only amI feeling old now ... (sigh) I saw that photo of Damon and Asa, and I realized that I have to go find an old picture of the two of them when they were like, 2 and 3, and they had those EXACT SAME expressions on their faces!
ReplyDeleteThank you for setting up your blog! It will make me feel more in-the-loop when it comes to the family. I miss my cousins SO MUCH! Hope to see you Saturday!
