All Dressed Up

On February 25th, D and I attended a fundraiser for Ethiopian Orphan Relief. The event was a huge success and I was so honored to be a small part of it. EOR partners with organizations that are already on the ground in Ethiopia and they raise money for specific purposes. One thing that is important to me is that our money goes towards long term, sustainable projects like education, improved medical care and clean water. Those are exactly the type of projects that EOR funds. It was fun to get dressed up and spend an evening with friends while raising money for EOR. Most of the evening was spent bidding on silent auction items and enjoying the food and music. D and I invited a couple of our friends that besides being friends with us and knowing LB have no other connection to Ethiopia. At one point in the evening the guests were asked to raise their paddles to pledge money for projects benefitting an organization that EOR works closely with called Children's Heaven. They currently support 80 girls in Addis Ababa. To see these friends raise their paddles for something so close to my heart was a very emotional moment for me. I'll never forget it. Thanks to Harcar Photography there is even documentation that I put on a dress and heels! I cannot remember the last time I wore a dress and heels. And I am not sure how I ended up with such a handsome man as my date. If you are in the central Ohio area, mark your calendars for next year's event - February 23rd, 2013.

Here is a link to the video that they showed at the event highlighting some of EOR's recent projects.

Thank you EOR for a wonderful and inspiring evening!
