For the Baby Book

LB did something yesterday that I don't ever want to forget. The day had been somewhat challenging since he has started this new thing where he wants to throw everything. Puzzle pieces, books, blocks, food, etc. You name it. He throws it. I am having a hard time teaching him that when we are outside he can throw his ball but when we are inside he can't throw things at other people (Ex: I do not enjoy getting puzzle pieces thrown towards my face.) As I was giving him his bottle he looked up at me and pointed to his eye, then to his heart and then at me. That is how we taught him to say, "I love you." He will do it if you prompt him but had never done it just out of the blue like that. Needless to say, in that moment I forgot about my fat lip and told him over and over again that I love him too.

  1. Ezra is so cute! What a heart melting moment!! My son (from Ethiopia) is about the same age, and is a huge thrower too, the other day it was the remote control at my 6 year old!! We are also going through the same learning curve in California!!

    Best,
    Shannon

  2. If you can teach him to stop throwing please tell me how!! We are having the same problem with Brett. If he doesn't throw something at me he will just walk up and hit me with it. But he smiles the whole time. Ugh!

  6. That is SO sweet! I cannot wait to get that baby in my arms in a few days. I am definitely teaching Miles how to sign 'I love you' in that same way!
