Three Weeks Home

Three weeks ago today we arrived at the Columbus Airport as a family of three. LB did very well on the flights home and only had one meltdown during the take-off in Frankfurt thanks to a stewardess who woke him while putting on the lap belt. I would have cried too had I been awakened in such a way. Other than that he either slept or made friends with people sitting near us. We requested a small, family only airport homecoming so we were met by my parents, D's parents, my sister and D's aunt. LB slept on the hour flight from Chicago to Columbus so he was a little dazed and confused upon arrival.
Here is the welcoming party.

And here are a few shots of our arrival. They aren't the greatest quality but you get the idea. (We had been traveling for 30 hours and we know we look it.)

Isn't it sweet how he reached his arm out to both grandmas! He makes friends easily.
Unfortunately, LB was not a fan of his car seat and he cried the entire twenty minutes it took to get home from the airport. It was painful. I think he preferred the Addis style of driving where he just got to hang out on one of our laps and look out the window. Once we were home he was back to his normal and happy self. We were nervous how the first meeting between Raney and LB would go. Like I said, LB makes friends easily and once again he extended his arm to greet his new sibling.

Poor Raney has been moping around the house the past couple of weeks. She hasn't appreciated getting upstaged. I think she is starting warm up to him though and once LB starts dropping food from his high-chair then I think forgiveness will occur.

D's mom captured a sweet moment between Aunt and Nephew that I couldn't resist posting. This photo makes my heart very happy.

It's good to be home.
