Introduction

We’re ADOPTING!!! D and I have just started the process of adopting a baby from Ethiopia! It is still so amazing just to type those words. We are so excited to move forward and feel such peace with our decision. Adoption is obviously a process not most people are familiar with so we are hoping this blog will be a good way to keep our families and friends posted on where we are in our adoption adventure. I also hope this blog helps me connect with other adoptive parents out there in the blog world. I know it will be a huge help to have the support and guidance of those who have been through it or are in process as well.

I’m going to try and mix up my posts so they aren’t all detail focused but I want to try and document everything I can about the journey, like our first trip to the local Ethiopian restaurant. We are planning to educate ourselves as much as we can about Ethiopian history and culture. It will also be nice for us to have this to look back on someday.

I imagine we will get lots of questions through all of this and we welcome them. I hope our journey opens other peoples’ hearts and minds to the possibility of adoption.
